This girl was raised cooking in the kitchen with her momma. Now that I am an adult, with a home of my own, being in the kitchen has grown to be one of my favorite things. I love a homemade meal. I love cooking for Austin and friends. I love dinner around the table. There’s something about a kitchen that just brings people together. Whether we are around the island chatting over a cocktail, or making a big fat mess cooking a meal that we will inhale in 10 minutes, the kitchen holds memories that I will cherish forever.
My mom is the ultimate southern cook, so needless to say I am not the healthiest cook in the kitchen thanks to her. BUT a stick of butter doesn’t hurt anything if you ask me π Today I want to share my love for cooking with you, by rounding up some of my kitchen must haves. I am including similar or exact items from Amazon Prime to hopefully make your life easier.
- We leave a similar marble cutting board out on our counter. I don’t only love how it looks but it’s also super convenient for whenever we are chopping stuff up! Pair it with number 9 for easy clean up.
- These wine glasses don’t need much explaining, as I am typically always sipping a glass of vino while cooking!
– I am not a big coffee snob. Just give me my Keurig to brew me a cup each morning, add a little cream and I am ready to start my morning.
- A lot of people always ask if the KitchenAid Mixer is worth it and in my opinion it is 100% worth the splurge. Especially if you love to bake like I do! Super easy to whip up homemade cookies and your kids or significant other will be singing your praises.
- If you live in the south and do not own a cast iron skillet I am officially judging you. In all seriousness, I use this exact skillet way more than I would have ever thought. Perfect for grilling up meat or really anything. Note- do not wash the skillet with soap. Simply rinse it off and rub oil + salt on it after it’s dry.
- Wooden spoons really make me think of my mom. They were the utensils she always used while cooking. I now have a big set in our kitchen and use them every single day!
- A hand mixer like this one is necessary when you don’t want to get out the KitchenAid Mixer. It’s a must for homemade mashed potatoes. Just trust me.
- Plastic mixing bowls are practical. I thought I would prefer glass ones, because lets be real they are cuter, but the plastic ones just make more sense and are easier to maintain.
- I swear by these plastic sheets to lay over out marble cutting board. Makes the clean up process way easier!
- Every kitchen needs a crockpot! I love this one because it has the timer on it so you can set it to cook all day while you’re at work and come home to a delicious and easy meal!
- I love these baking sheets! They are amazing quality and another item I use multiple times a week for cookies, vegetables, frozen items and so much more! They’re also pretty so that helps π
- Stainless steal mixing bowls with lids. These are great for when you make something that needs to be refrigerated or for a salad. I love them for all things cold!
This is just a slim list of things I love, but I tried to focus on items I use on a weekly basis. If you are a single gal just starting out living on your own, engaged and registering for your wedding, or if you just want some new kitchen ideas I hope this helps.
