If you read my blog post a few months ago, about the baby shower I helped throw, you know I love to host. I love making memories in our home with friends and family. Showering the special people in our lives. Seeing ideas come to life. Cooking. Entertaining. All the above. It’s in my blood, and I swear in my next life I want to be a professional party planner π
My girlfriends and I had the honor to shower our friends Michael and Rachel a couple weekends ago, in honor of their wedding in November. One of my favorite wedding showers from Austin and I’s engagement season was our couples shower, so I was super excited to get to help create these memories for them! AND I am so excited to break down the details for you today.
Theme?
Bubbles and Brews Before the I Do’s was the theme I played off of, since it was a couples shower. For the decor, I went off the details I knew about Rachel and Michael’s wedding, and decided to do a little rustic, a little shabby chic. I incorporated burgundy, gold and white into the shower with the flowers and balloons. Fortunately, our wedding was kind of the same scheme, so I had a lot of stuff I was able to use.
Food?
We had the shower on a Saturday evening, so we knew we wanted to provide dinner! We had Maggiano’s Italian food catered and it was seriously delicious. However, you always have to have appetizers and food for guests to nibble on, so I created a “smaller” charcuterie board that was Italian focused. It was a hit, just like the baby shower and is seriously my go to for all the parties now. LOL. You can reference my baby shower post here for the details on how to create your own.
Balloon Wall?
The Party Mom DFW helped bring my balloon vision to life with the cutest organic balloon wall! It was the perfect backdrop for pictures! I just added my own personal sign on it and some greenery to make it pop. If you are in need of the perfect backdrop or balloon arch and are in DFW I highly suggest you check out The Party Mom DFW. She is so talented and extremely affordable + easy to work with. Seriously though, she came to our house and set up the wall and I was mesmerized.
Flowers?
Modern Moss created all of the arrangements for the party! From the gorgeous center pieces for the dinner tables outside, to the garland that lined the charcuterie board, her work amazed many. Faux flowers are a fabulous way to decrease costs for weddings, showers, events, etc. and Modern Moss is one of the best in the biz. You would never know her work is made up of faux flowers!
Koozies?
I knew for a fact I wanted to do cute koozies for the party favors and was so happy to come across EloquenceInk’s work on Etsy! She made the perfect magenta koozies that matched the Bubbles and Brews theme to a t!
All in all, the shower came together just how I imagined! It was such a fun evening showering Rachel and Quast with their friends and family.
Let me know if I can answer any other questions!
