One of my goals after Austin & I got married was to travel more. I want to see more of the world, meet new people & experience different foods & cultures! My first adventure of the summer was a blogger trip to Austin, TX. Yes, I have been to Austin numerous times in my lifetime, but there is still a lot I have not experienced.
My friend Kirstin, from Styled by Sequins, is not from Texas and had never been to Austin, so we thought this was the perfect place to travel to! We had so much fun, in the short time we were there. It was like a little staycation, only 3.5 hours away! Now, you may be wondering what we did, where we stayed and most importantly what we ate. Keep reading, because I am going to cover it all!
We did not get to Austin until late Friday night, so we stopped for dinner on the way. Kirstin had never been to the famous Czech stop, so I insisted we stop for some kolaches! If you haven’t been either and you’re driving through West, I highly recommend the jalapeno popper & raspberry cream cheese kolaches. Probably a thousand calories, but oh so worth it.
When we finally arrived to Austin we checked into the Fairmont, which actually is brand new and opened about 3 months ago. My draw continued to drop, as the hotel was beyond fabulous. The décor was seriously a bloggers heaven, with all the blue & white details! We learned that the Fairmont was right across from Rainey Street, so we decided we would go for a drink or two! If you are not familiar with ATX, Rainey Street is a tamer version of 6th Street. Great for grabbing casual drinks, but if you are looking to party that’s allowed, too 😉
Saturday morning we shot with Twinty Photography [all our overall pictures were taken with Amy] on South Congress, which was so fun! Amy was seriously the cutest human I’ve ever met & her photography skills are out of this world. Kirstin & I thought it would be fun to rock the overall trend, for some pictures together, & take pics in front of some of the most iconic murals in ATX! South Congress is great for exploring, as it truly represents the Austin culture!
After shooting, we went back to the Fairmont for breakfast at Revue. This restaurant is beyond unique, as they have menu options for everyone! Craving something sweet? Highly recommend a Nutella crepe from their crepe bar! Extremely hungry & want to be able to have seconds? Check out their buffet! Or if you’re like me & live for tacos, order the breakfast tacos from their breakfast menu! They were delicious & the potatoes were the cherry on top! AND Revue has a flower wall in the back, which is perfect for pictures or boomerangs. Again, totally a bloggers heaven 😉
After we totally stuffed our faces, we decided we would go layout by the rooftop pool! The pool is very decadent & even has a wait staff & bar, for when you need an afternoon pick me up. I may or may not have forgoten to apply sunscreen & totally fried. Ooppps!
Night time rolled around & we needed Mexican food. We had margaritas & ate at the famous Guerros on South Congress! This was followed by drinks back at the Farimont’s Rules & Regs. This bar is actually open to the public, so if you are not staying at the hotel, you could still stop by for drinks & take in the rooftop view of the city.
On our way out Sunday morning we had breakfast at Eberly, which was the cutest place! And I swear I ate the best avocado toast I have ever had! We then headed to the Domain to visit the new Erin Condren store. If you saw my Insta stories, I gave you the inside scoop. Basically a type A’s dream! Highly recommend making the stop!
All in all, it was a fun weekend getaway & Kirstin & I got to know each other a lot better, which is always fun. What are your favorite spots in Austin?
Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks to the Fairmont for this collaboration. All opinions are my own.
