Hey friend! I am so excited to share all our honeymoon details with you for my first #WeddingWednesday since the wedding. The week leading up to our big day, I was beyond stressed & all I was excited for was the honeymoon. Needless to say when the time came, 6 days on the beach did not disappoint! π We left for our honeymoon the Tuesday after the wedding, which gave us a day to recoup after the wedding. If you are planning your honeymoon, seriously take a day to relax & get situated with your new hubby!
We went to the Grand Bahia Principe in Tulum, Mexico. Which in case you are not familiar with Tulum, it is about an hour away from the Cancun airport. When we first arrived to the resort we were greeted with delicious mango drinks & our room was decked out with roses & champagne. Can you say romantic or what? π Oh & we had an ocean view room, so that was wonderful, too! The staff was extremely nice & the beach was beyond beautiful. Austin & I enjoyed lounging on the beach & by the pool all week. Did I mention their pool is seriously huge? It has a swim up bar, which is obviously convenient when you’re drinking the best cerveza π And in case you want to get away from kids, there is another pool for adults only. We did not ever lay by this pool, but it looked just as nice & relaxing.
Now for the food. You cannot go in having high expectations like Austin & I regretfully did. The buffet was not the best, as everything started tasting bland and the same after our second meal. If you do eat in the buffet area, make sure to sit in the back room, as there are birds flying around everywhere else. I was a tad grossed out our first meal. Any ways, I literally lived off of guac from the buffet for lunch and dinner, but I am not complaining! They also have the a la carte restaurants that you can make dinner reservations for. We made our reservations right when we got to the resort, which we would highly recommend! We ate at the Japanese, Italian and Mexican restaurant which were not terrible, but they were not anything special. The Italian meal was our last dinner & we were so glad, because we saved the best for last! They had an olive bar, so you know I was all about that. π
When it came to excursions, Austin & I decided to save our money. If you are into exploring though, they have several fun things you can do. Such as seeing the Mayan ruins, zip lining, jet skis & more! Austin & I knew we wanted to do a couples massage, so we did splurge on that. It was very relaxing & so fun to be in the same room together!
All in all, it was a wonderful trip with my new husband. We are already planning our next vacation & cannot wait to start seeing the world together!
I hope you have a fabulous Wednesday. Thank you so much for stopping by!
